Nothing Phone Series Explained
The Number Series
This is the flagship series in the Nothing phone brand. They currently have Phone (1), Phone (2), and Phone (3) released until now. Besides the number, there are no words or letters attached, signalling that it is the flagship tier. So, when you see the Nothing Phone (3), you are looking at the best chipset that Nothing has to offer alongside the best camera and premium build. It is running on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset with full IP68 water resistance, which is great for such a phone.
The “A” Series
Rather than inventing a whole new series, Nothing took the generational number and added a simple lowercase “a” after it. This is Nothing’s way of saying that bringing a phone of the same generation but at an affordable budget, in a new series. It is made using a less powerful chipset, simple camera systems, and cheaper materials, making the phone affordable to a wider audience. However, it is important to understand that the “A” series is an outdated or older model cause it was launched at the same time as the number series, just at a different budget. The Nothing 4a is one of the best phones in this series.
Furthermore, there is the “pro/lite” under the “a” series that gives advanced or lighter features than those of the “a” series. The Nothing Phone 4a Pro and Nothing Phone 3a Lite are some phones in this series.
Best Nothing Phone by Budget
Nothing Phone Under NPR 50,000
Nothing mobile phones are usually pricey, with the cheapest phone, the Phone 3a Lite, costing NPR 40,999/45,999 and available at the GBN Store. This phone is built to feel premium regardless of its price, having a 6.77-inch AMOLED at a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, powered by a 5000 mAh battery that can last a day of simple usage, this phone has a 50MP main camera sensor like the Phone 3a, which delivers quality photos. Nothing cut down its cost by only keeping a single notification LED instead of the multi-LED Glyph lighting and using a chipset for everyday use rather than gaming or multitasking. This is Nothing's Cheapest Phone in Nepal and is great for its price.
Nothing Phone Between NPR 50,000–70,000
In this price range, the only available phone is the Nothing Phone 4a, which is priced at NPR 64,999. It is a genuine generational upgrade from the 3a lite, not a minor tweak, coming with a 5400mAh battery and being larger than any “a” series Nothing phone. The 6.78-inch 120Hz display is larger and sharper than the 3a Lite, but the biggest noticeable feature is the camera, which brings a triple-camera setup with 3.5x optical zoom instead of a single camera. This is a versatile camera for anyone who wants to shoot distant subjects, group photos, or wants framing flexibility. Also, kept the full 63-LED Glyph interface that is the visual identity Nothing is known for.
Nothing Phone Between NPR 70,000–1,00,000
This price bracket holds two phones that are genuinely different phones rather than straightforward “spend more and get more” upgrades. The Nothing Phone 3 is priced at NPR 89,99/99,998 is Nothing’s number one flagship phone till today. It has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset that is built for heavy use, and full IP68 water & dust resistance, being the only phone able to survive submersion. While the Nothing Phone 4a Pro, priced at NPR 93,999, is priced close to the Phone 3, most of its budget goes to the camera, which is a Sony 50MP main sensor with OIS and a periscope telephoto lens reaching 140x zoom. This zoom range is rare at this price. Likewise, being the most expensive Nothing phone in Nepal, it has a newer Glyph Matrix lighting and an aluminium unibody build, giving a more premium feel than the Phone 3.
Nothing Phone Camera Comparison
The camera capability varies more across the various price ranges in the Nothing Phones. The Nothing Phone 3a Lite uses a straightforward 50MP main sensor without a telephoto lens, while the Nothing Phone 4a steps up to a proper triple camera setup with 3.5x optical zoom. However, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro has the best camera, using the Sony 40MP main sensor with OIS and a periscope lens reaching up to 140x zoom, in terms of zoom.
Are Nothing Phones Good for Gaming?
The gaming performance in Nothing phones scales directly with the price here. The Nothing Phone 3a, which runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, is the best pick for sustained and graphics-heavy gaming, it has the only chipset in this lineup built for demanding titles without any issues. However, the Nothing Phone 4a Pro (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) and the Nothing Phone 4a (Snapdragon 7s Gen4) can run popular games like Mobile Legends, Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile comfortably at medium to high settings. Likewise, the Nothing Phone 3a Lite with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro is fine for casual and lighter games, being the weakest in gaming performance in Nothing.

As of today, there is no official confirmation about the next model from Nothing beyond the current Nothing Phone 3 and 4a series. However, there is no announcement about the Phone 4 and Phone 5 yet, but we will update this section the moment there is an announcement is made by Nothing itself.
