Samsung Galaxy A27 5G overview.

Design and build

The A27 5G has a thickness of 7.8mm and weighs 200g, making it feel solid and high-quality when held. It features Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides of the phone (front and rear) and provides IP64 protection against dust ingress and accidental liquid splashes. Users can select from three color options: black, light green, and light pink. While the speaker can handle phone calls and video playback, users will need to use Samsung Galaxy Buds or other compatible Bluetooth headphones to replace the 3.5mm headphone port.

Display

The Super AMOLED panel measures 6.7 inches and has a Full HD+ resolution (approximately 385 PPI), with a 120Hz refresh rate. It feels very smooth when you scroll through your phone, play games on it, or watch movies. You can view the screen in direct sunlight due to its enhancement by Samsung’s Vision Booster. A small hole in the top center of the screen allows for a larger viewing area, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ provides protection for the display. Finally, the side-mounted fingerprint sensor unlocks the phone quickly.

Performance

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (4nm, Adreno 710 GPU) will allow you to run all your daily apps without issues and possibly even play games such as PUBG Mobile, COD: Mobile, and Free Fire on medium settings. This is a very good choice for someone who loves to use social media and/or plays video games casually. There are two different RAM/ROM options available: either 6GB + 128GB or 8GB + 256GB. In addition to these two options, there is a microSD slot that allows you to add additional storage space (up to 2TB) via a microSD card.

Software

The A27 5G has One UI 8.5 on Android 16 and includes Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Voice Transcription. The A27 5G also supports Samsung DeX so that it can be used with a monitor or a Galaxy Tab. Samsung states that they will provide six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Camera

The main camera on the phone is 50 megapixels (f/1.8). It is equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS); this will help keep your photos and videos steady when taking them in low light. There are two additional cameras: a 5-megapixel ultra-wide (f/2.2) and a 2-megapixel macro lens, both of these allow you to take many different types of pictures. You can also capture 4 K resolution video at 30 frames per second using gyro-EIS and 720p resolution slow-motion video at 480 frames per second. The front camera is 12 megapixels (f/2.2) and is equipped with autofocus, so you can easily take a selfie that looks great.

Battery

The 5,000mAh Lithium-ion battery allows for use of the device throughout the entire day. It can charge at up to 25 watts via USB Type-C and can reach approximately 45 percent capacity within 30 minutes; thus, a brief recharge will allow for continued operation. A 25W Samsung charging adapter would be appropriate.
